I love the scratch board effect it's a nice stylization!

I love the sketchy style. Did you do the background digitally or with traditional watercolor?

ratherlemony responds:

Thanks!

As for the background, it was a combination of the two. The sky you see there started off life as a piece of paper with lots of ink and pigment splashed over it. Scanned it, messed about with the curve function and contrast a bit, tweaked it a bit with liquify and added snow in photoshop. Voila.

I really like stylized and fluid look. I could see it being animated. As for the background did you eyeball it, or is that done with a perspective path?

Bobfleadip responds:

Well there's a vanishing point, but the lineart was made by hand in photoshop with the brush tool, including the background

I pride myself on that line quality something fierce lol

Glad you like it! :D

Timing is fabulous keep it up!

I Like it not too many people take the risk that comes with the scratch board effect so kudos for that, but it also paid off with a wonderful composition to the piece itself. Keep it up!

I love this piece, it feels so complete and finished even though its such a simple style. keep it up!

TinyRobot responds:

Thanks, that means a lot. Simplifying things after painting for so long is tougher than it would seem!
