Thanks very much! Good luck to you as well, really loved your Wonder Man entry ;3
I love the amount of detail that you put into the figure. There is this sense of surrealism about your stuff that i really dig; the only thing that could make it better would be a background to tie it all together.
Haha, yeah but this is not really an image in and of itself, this one is part of a cluster of doodles, but this one is relatively clean so i isolated it from the rest, but now that you say it, it really could benefit from a background, yes it would.
I positively love the way that you do your lighting! The whole image is just so full and thought through and expressive. You got a new fave in me.
Glad you enjoy it :D
I understand completely... and i'm glad your feeling better. i love your colors the contrast with the mood just enough to drive the emotion home. New fave!
Thank you very much, I'm glad my intent came across.
Bad ass dude! I cant wait to see what else you have in store for them! You got a new fan and a new fave here!
Wow thanks for the comment and your kind words :))) Originally i didnt plan to expand their story , i come up with a background for every original piece i make. However , it seems like several people liked it and asked me to continue with them , so , i will :P
This is one of my new faves! you use india ink pens for it? or was it digital?
Thanks you! I used a a maru nib, G nib, old brush (for the small speckling on the ground) and technical pen for the line art (with PH. martin's matte Black Star ink) and then colored it digitally using CS 5.
I love the style and may have to take you up on that offer :)
Haha Thanks! I'd love to see if you do.
I love the sketchy style. Did you do the background digitally or with traditional watercolor?
Thanks!
As for the background, it was a combination of the two. The sky you see there started off life as a piece of paper with lots of ink and pigment splashed over it. Scanned it, messed about with the curve function and contrast a bit, tweaked it a bit with liquify and added snow in photoshop. Voila.
I really like stylized and fluid look. I could see it being animated. As for the background did you eyeball it, or is that done with a perspective path?
Well there's a vanishing point, but the lineart was made by hand in photoshop with the brush tool, including the background
I pride myself on that line quality something fierce lol
Glad you like it! :D
I love this piece, it feels so complete and finished even though its such a simple style. keep it up!
Thanks, that means a lot. Simplifying things after painting for so long is tougher than it would seem!
I'm just some jackass trying to go pro doing art I like sexy art, tooney art, kickass art, and balls to the wall weird art.
